Safety routines
Sign-in and the deck
Swimmers check in with their instructor at the pool door, rinse where the pool asks and wait on the bench until their level is called. Walking feet on every deck.
In the water
An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer. The youngest levels hold hands or a kickboard, and every level practices getting to the wall.
The pool's lifeguard
At each pool, the pool's own lifeguard is on duty during our classes. That is the pool's staff, not ours, and we ask families to follow the pool's rules as well as ours.
Adults at the pool
A parent or guardian stays in the building during children's classes. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision, at our pools or any other.
When a swimmer is unwell
Please keep a swimmer home with a fever or a stomach bug, and tell us so we can offer a make-up class.
Roads and weather
When snow or ice closes the roads, we text families, and the class is made up in the same session.
