Family policies
What families ask before the first class.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
In the pool, and watching
An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer, and the pool's own lifeguard is on duty during our classes. Parents watch from the bench, the window or the lobby, whichever the pool has. We ask that a parent or guardian stays in the building during children's classes. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.
What to wear and bring
Swim shirts are welcome in every class. Please tie long hair back, bring a towel, and wear goggles if your swimmer likes them. We ask every swimmer to wear a cap in their level's color, and we show you the color at the placement visit.
When to keep your child home
Please keep a swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, and tell us so we can offer a make-up class. Each pool also asks swimmers to rinse before they get in.
Closures for weather and holidays
Each pool closes for its own holidays, repairs and breaks, and the roads can close for snow and ice. We text families the same day we hear. A class missed because a pool or the roads were closed is made up in the same session, space allowing.
Leaving the program
Please give us two weeks' notice before a swimmer leaves, so we can offer the place to a family on the waitlist. What happens to a session in progress is on the enrollment page.
Drop-off and pickup
After class the instructor hands each swimmer back to a parent or a grown-up named at registration, at the pool door. If someone new is collecting, tell us before class.
Screens and phones
Please keep phones away from the water's edge. Photos of other families' swimmers are not allowed on the deck.
Something we did not cover?
Ask at the pool door or send us a message.
